We respect the privacy of everyone who uses our extension and comply with the User Data Privacy policy for the Chrome Web Store. By using the Yt AI Companion browser extension for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, you consent to this privacy policy.
We do not collect or store your personal or sensitive data, including personally identifiable information, browsing history, cookies, form data, web browsing activity, financial or payment information, health information, authentication information, or website content. The extension reads the transcript of the YouTube video you are currently watching solely to generate summaries, quizzes, and answers, and this processing happens entirely on your own device.
We do not transmit your data to our servers or to any third party over any network — secure or insecure. There are no servers, no API keys, and no accounts. All AI processing is performed locally on your computer using Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano model. Your transcript and your questions never leave your browser.
We do not sell, trade, collect, store, transmit, or otherwise transfer your personal or sensitive data to third parties. Because we never collect this data in the first place, there is nothing to disclose. Your information remains entirely on your device.
Like most extensions, we may use the browser's local storage to save extension settings that are necessary for the proper functioning of the extension (for example, your preferred mode or UI preferences). We do not store any personal or sensitive data, user interactions, or browsing activity in local storage. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted.
We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA. Our extension is not intended for and is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 13 years of age.
Because we value your privacy, we have taken the necessary precautions to comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not distribute personal information to outside parties — and, as described above, we do not collect such information at all.
